Who do I work with?
I work with adults age 18+ who are seeking help with a wide variety of issues.
I have a particular interest in working with young adults, career explorers, clients living with chronic illness or chronic pain, and caregivers.
I am also committed to providing a very safe and non-judgemental space for clients who may fear discrimination when seeking out a therapist. I am knowledgeable about and sensitive to the concerns of clients who identify as LGBTQ+, transgender, non-gender conforming, polyamorous, or kinky. My goal is to provide a space where clients of all genders, sexualities, and lifestyles can work towards growth in an atmosphere that requires no secrets.
When is the right time to start therapy?
Therapy can be helpful even if you aren’t sure yet what you need from it. If you are experiencing a time of transition or high stress in your life, a therapist can simply provide support and help you learn the skills to weather the storm. If you are distressed by an emotional or behavioral pattern in your life, counseling will give you the insight and tools to create lasting change. Though we usually think of therapy as a place to address tough problems, it can also be a powerful form of preventative wellness when a client chooses to work on an issue well before it has caused serious emotional damage. Part of my job as a therapist is to help my clients clarify what they might need from therapy and decide what they want the end results to look like.
